The ratio bench

The ratio bench takes twenty-seven raw figures from a 10-K or annual report — price, diluted shares, debt, cash, revenue, COGS, EBIT, D&A, net income, cash from operations, capex, equity, assets and the working-capital lines — and computes every metric from modules 02 through 08 at once.

It arrives preloaded with a synthetic worked example, Harrowgate Industrial, a mid-cap components maker, so a full set of readings is visible immediately. Overwrite the fields with a real company's figures, keeping all money figures in one unit.

Each metric carries a long, short or neutral flag on conventional thresholds for a general industrial business. They are conversation starters, not conclusions: a 25× EV/EBIT is normal for a high-ROIC software firm and absurd for a steel mill. Read the flag, then ask whether the sector makes it wrong.

Educational, not investment advice.
